A Box of Emotions

As I was being tortured by the sensation of heat yesterday, I had to convince myself my determination to finish my assignments *arrghh, the word* wouldn't be melted down by the crazy hot sun.

Around 6am, I was waken up by the sounds of miracle -----it was the thunder. Thank God~

The gratefulness I felt, I could not explain...as I felt so touched and blessed that I went back to my dreams with a smile on my face, knowing that today would be a great day.

An hour after, I was waken up by another sound------annoyance...my handphone, though it was bringing good news. My classes today have been cancelled. Well, they say, good things come in a couple.

But I had to use my energy to open my eyes wider to forward the message to the snake & turtle.

*sleepiness fading* Some more, the unexpected reply from the snake, kaka caucau...so I grabbed the chance to express how beautiful the rain is at the moment. And so she replied again & said she's going back to her dreamland too.

Because I'm an unbelievably light sleeper, I knew I couldn't go back to sleep anymore. But...but....it just started to rain. How could I be so cruel & ruin my chance of having the world's most perfect bedtime ever? As so I told my dear roommate, & I forced myself to sleep back...splendid~ *wink*

I woke up feeling not satisfied enough, but it was time to wake up. Can't be greedy, ey?

So here I am, writing this post, because I was thinking, how could I miss carving this unforgettable day on a big stone? (Google won't go bankrupt right?)

I wish everyday is today, just the weather, not the date.

The wind breezing. Today has like the best weather ever.

Even the birds' chirping sounds nicer, I don't really appreciate them much usually.

Everything is perfect, except for the reminder of assignment due dates keeps ringing for the whole day & my intestine inflammation is eating me up.

How nice if I don't have to do anything..just lying there, sitting here for the whole day.

The Colours of all objects around seem brighter, nicer. I love the idea of having eyeballs! *rofl*

Just yesterday, I was complaining how the world has gone into all the bad things.

And my day is started with a sign telling I'm being taken care of, no matter how disappointing yesterday could be.

Well, life is always related to imperfection somehow, because we, humans will never be satisfied and therefore, a better day than yesterday is something to be thankful about. But no matter how great today is, we can still come up with something to mumble about.

Arrr, screw it. I want to enjoy today.

You will enjoy the new insights that Rick Warren has, with his wife now having cancer and him having 'wealth' from the book sales. 'Purpose Driven Life ' author and pastor of Saddleback Church in California.

In the interview by Paul Bradshaw with Rick Warren, Rick said: "People ask me, What is the purpose of life?" And I respond: "In a nutshell, life is preparation for eternity.

We were not made to last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven. One day my heart is going to stop, and that will be the end of my body - but not the end of me. I may live 60 to 100 years on earth, but I am going to spend trillions of years in eternity. This is the warm-up act - the dress rehearsal.

God wants us to practice on earth what we will do forever in eternity. We were made by God and for God, and until you figure that out, life isn't going to make sense…

Life is a series of problems: either you are in one now, you're just coming out of one, or you're getting ready to go into another one.

The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than your comfort; God is more interested in making your life holy than He is in making your life happy. We can be reasonably happy here on earth, but that's not the goal of life. The goal is to grow in character, in Christ likeness.

This past year has been the greatest year of my life but also the toughest, with my wife, Kay, getting cancer.

I used to think that life was hills and valleys - you go through a dark time, then you go to the mountaintop, back and forth. I don't believe that anymore. Rather than life being hills and valleys, I believe that it's kind of like two rails on a railroad track, and at all times you have something good and something bad in your life.

No matter how good things are in your life, there is always something bad that needs to be worked on. And no matter how bad things are in your life, there is always something good you can thank God for.

You can focus on your purposes, or you can focus on your problems:

§ If you focus on your problems, you're going into self-centeredness, which is my problem, my issues, my pain.

§ But one of the easiest ways to get rid of pain is to get your focus off yourself and onto God and others.

We discovered quickly that in spite of the prayers of hundreds of thousands of people, God was not going to heal Kay or make it easy for her - it has been very difficult for her, and yet God has strengthened her character, given her a ministry of helping other people, given her a testimony, drawn her closer to Him and to people.

You have to learn to deal with both the good and the bad of life.

Actually, sometimes learning to deal with the good is harder. For instance, this past year, all of a sudden, when the book sold 15 million copies, it made me instantly very wealthy. It also brought a lot of notoriety that I had never had to deal with before.

I don't think God gives you money or notoriety for your own ego or for you to live a life of ease. So I began to ask God what He wanted me to do with this money, notoriety and influence. He gave me two different passages that helped me decide what to do, II Corinthians 9 and Psalm 72.

First, in spite of all the money coming in, we would not change our lifestyle one bit. We made no major purchases.

Second, about midway through last year, I stopped taking a salary from the church.

Third, we set up foundations to fund an initiative we call The Peace Plan to plant churches, equip leaders, assist the poor, care for the sick, and educate the next generation.

Fourth, I added up all that the church had paid me in the 24 years since I started the church, and I gave it all back.

It was liberating to be able to serve God for free.

We need to ask ourselves: Am I going to live for possessions? Popularity?
Am I going to be driven by pressures? Guilt? Bitterness? Materialism?
Or am I going to be driven by God's purposes (for my life)?

When I get up in the morning, I sit on the side of my bed and say, God, if I don't get anything else done today, I want to know You more and love You better.

God didn't put me on earth just to fulfill a to-do list. He's more interested in what I am than what I do. That's why we're called human beings, not human doings.

Happy moments, PRAISE GOD.
Difficult moments, SEEK GOD.
Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD.
Painful moments, TRUST GOD.
Every moment, THANK GOD.

A few years ago, I was like any other human being, questioning what I should do, my purpose on earth & my purpose of life, fortunately, God opened my eyes & heart & showed me. Maybe I'm just nobody, maybe I'll be nobody. Maybe my time is not here yet, but I want to believe, that my heart stays with Him forever. 1. I love watching violent, gory movie, vampire & all- happy tree friends doesn't excite me anymore, little ninjai is too tiring because of the way he talks, Angel I love the most. Van Helsing. All those chopping off hands, shouting, blood gushing out, bla3....

2. Despite the first statement, I'll cry watching cartoons, like really cry - eg. pokemon, hamtaro, walle, ice age, brother bear, open season.

3. I love brown colour.

4. I can play piano with crossed hands.

5. I don't eat pineapple except it's on pizzas.

6. I don't eat garlic but garlic bread.

7. I don't eat onion, but I like ABC soup.

8. I'm always contradicting myself, not just because of the 3 things I mentioned above. ahaha~

9. Many find my concepts on stuffs hard to understand. (Ask me personally if you are dying to know why.)

10. I don't generalise my likings or preferences. See statement 5, 6 & 7.

11. I really hate it when people make a wrong statement about me, stronger word is "accuse". I would hate the person more than I hate the statement. Don't say I'm flirty, don't say I don't bother about anything...

12. I'm sensitive of my surroundings, unless I choose not to bother.

13. I wore braces.

14. I hate repeating what I say unless you can't hear me.

15. I hate when people keep repeating what they've asked or told me, like 2 months ago. Don't bother asking if you don't intend to remember. In this case, courtesy really doesn't mean anything to me. Thank you~

16. I hold grudges. Some things, I just never forget. & you won't know if I'm angry with you.

17. I do remember good things though.

18. The real me is not very similar with how I personalise myself in public. Don't judge me.

19. I like to keep things as simple as they are. I see many people intend to make things a lot more complicated. I really don't understand why & how they do it. But some people say I'm in denial. I say, they are totally different.

20. I'm a devoted Christian and proud of it. I know, I know but you won't want me blurting out bible verses every now and then right?

21. I have more than 50 pairs of earrings.

22. I've been wearing different clothes everyday for 3 & a half weeks now & I don't think they are a quarter of the amount.

24. I don't know how to cross the road. The boring saying is I'm not aware of the cars when I'm crossing the road. Until now, no matter how many times my friends & I got heart attack out of it, I'm still the same.

My One & Only 21st B'day

With no exception every year, mummy's b'day is one day before mine, of course. If I'm at home, we would be celebrating together..^^

It's 10 mins before my b'day ends. & I will take a long time to finish this post, as usual.

Firstly, Happy Birthday to Ceek Chean, same day, but one year older! Haha~I know I know, stop emphasising right. 

& thanks a lot for your thoughtful gift, I like it so much.

& I must thank one fella, if not, he'll be angry. Thank you for what you did yesterday, I'm really very happy & touched. 

Next, thanks to everyone who wished me. Since it's my 21st b'day, I would list out everyone's name. (Never got out of lameness). Thank you so much to my dear family, dad who said I'm more matured (ehem, don't know why. But my dad is always right, you know.), mummy for your lovely present, brother who wanted to give me jogoya treat but I don't want because of my allergy to seafood, Carol who kept me waiting for her message. Thank you to Ooi Noo Yin, my dear silly BFF for her "shiny" gift, haha, my wacky housemates, mishel, zaza, tjc, amelia, ynuoh for the gifts & the nice cake! Phew, I'm officially 21! It's not that scary to be an adult. I don't mind actually, old fashioned but true, age doesn't matter. Me is fery harpy! Just hope this year will be a much better year. Know God is taking care of me. (ceek chean, I feel so deeply because of your gift!)

My b'day wish is the same as last year, & the year before, & the year before. Just a simple thing I wish I can have for the rest of my life. Who said I'm not easily satisfied huh?

Jojo tagged me finally. *grin* Well, it's about time to post some new blogs, have been disappearing for a few weeks. I'm having a serious headache now, wearing cap to help reduce the pain, don't ask why. Going to check out with the doctor next week. Have been like this for almost half a year, & I almost forgot, it's time to do my blood test again, to see if I have enough immunity for hepatitis B.
